During my third internship at VPL in New York City, I was one of the women's apparel design interns. My supervisor brought a special project to my attention - there was extra fabric from a previous season that she wanted to be made into an alternative gym bag for the VPL woman. I put together a mood board of inspiration, and sketched a few ideas to present. Once she selected one of my sketches, I moved forward with flat pattern development and miniature prototypes, all the way to sewing the initial sample. I was able to source all hardware from VPL and put together a pricing and technical packet for our manufacturers. Below is the result of a great internship and hard work on a unique project.
